Bypassing the Google Analytics Overview Pages

The latest updates to Google Analytics brought about some great new tools including the Advanced Segments and Custom Reporting features. These both have proven to quite useful to me so far.

However there was one change that at first I thought was a good idea but now find it to be a waste of time and useless. What I am talking about are the new “Overview” pages both the all accounts and individual account overview pages.

Using Google Webpage Removal Request Tool to Your Advantage

I recently received an email from a client who had a situation where another company had prepare a document for them and posted it to their website without consent. The document had some personal information on it that they did not want to be easily found in the search results. The document was now ranking #2 for a search on their name and the client wanted to know how they could get it out of there.

First, the company was politely asked to remove the document from their server. Done – or so you would think.

Andy Beal’s 21 WordPress Plugins & Commenter Superpacks

For those of you haven’t seen it yet Andy Beal, author of Radically Transparent, shared his secret list of the best 21 WordPress plugins for new blogs at Marketing Pilgrim. The last time I checked there were over 150 comments on the post. People offered up their amazement at finding must have new plugins and others shared the plugin that makes their blog a cut above the rest.

.Tel Domains to Use Keywords to get into SERPs

It was pointed out today that the upcoming .Tel domains will be crawled by the search engines and will rely heavily on a 1990’s throwback technique of using a Keywords field to achieve rankings in the SERPs.
