TLD Managers - There you have it, one of the first TLD Management websites is up and running. It took less that 24 hours since the announcement that ICANN is going to open up TLDs to increase the real estate on the Internet to get TLD Managers up.

TLD Managers is a top-level domain management service that will help you with registration and management of a TLD. Expect much more to come from this service. They plan taking an active roll in shaping the new TLD expansion by trying to get involved with ICANN.

$78.2 million for Web Analytics Companies in 2008

There are a wealth of analytics companies trying to each grab their own share of the pie in this highly competitive niche software industry. However, there are four companies that have caught the attention of venture capitalist as potential shining stars trying to break away from the pack. Each company is offering a slightly different product homing in on different types of metrics and features website owners and advertisers are interested in.

Already in 2008, VentureBeat has reported that these four analytics companies have received new venture capital coming in at a total of $78.2 million.

Google in New “Wanted” Movie Trailer

So, the most interesting thing that occurred during the latest M. Night Shyamalan movie “The Happening” was a preview for the new Angelina Jolie/Morgan Freeman movie “Wanted“. I say this because of the product placement Google has for their search service. It happens when Wesley Gibson (one of the main characters) is sitting in his cube, hating life as he knows it and decides to do a Google search on his name…

First Page Yahoo Ranking for Google Notebook Spam

When I read the Everfluxx posting on Google Notebook Spam (Sphinn PostEverfluxx Blog) it reminded me of something I stumbled across months ago in the Yahoo! index. So, I decided to revisit the situation and see if Yahoo! was still ranking a Google Notebook spam page on the first page of it’s search results for the keyword phrase “arizona golf vacations”. Low and behold – it is still there and ranked at #6! Check it out:

3 Rank Reporting Softwares Reviewed

I know, I know… rank reporting is completely going down the tubes with the advent of personalized search and Previous Query Refinement looming but I can’t help but give my clients what they ask for.

Currently, I am using WebPostion to monitor client rankings in the major search engines and when it went down for a couple weeks it gave me a great opportunity to review other rank reporting softwares available.

Keep Sphinn Clean – Report Spam

So, I came across Sphinn about a month ago and I finally became a member today after finding a lot of great & useful articles being Sphunn!. I have been in the industry for over two years and find I am still learning everyday which is why Sphinn is great. So, I want to press the importantance helping to keep Sphinn clean of spam.
